We understand that utilizing some of your nonprofit resources to hire a grant consultant needs to pay off. Here are some additional things you may want to consider.
Teamwork is Imperative to Develop Strong Grant Applications
We become part of your grant team and each of us has a role to play. While we bring the grant writing experience and skills, we need you (our client) to plan on investing significant time in helping us develop the strongest grant application possible. Note: about 25% of the time it takes to develop a winning grant application will come from you. We will work together to define your project, develop the project budget, define success measurements, and create compelling verbiage to submit a competitive application.
We craft grant proposals to be engaging, compelling, and clear - always with an eye towards the grant committee members who will be reading them and making the funding decisions. Our experience helps our clients understand what is expected in creating a compelling grant application.
We Take the Time to Get to Know Your Organization
In-depth knowledge of your organization gives us the background, information and insights to make your grant applications stand out from others, so, initially we will need some time getting to know you and the impact of your organization on the community you serve. This significantly increases your chance of success for an award. It also allows us to tap into the passion and heart that is at the root of the organizations we work with.
Funding is not Guaranteed
There are no guarantees that hiring us will win you the grant. There are many reasons why a particular grant may not be awarded that have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the written grant proposal and your grant writer’s efforts. This is just the reality of the unpredictable world of grant funding.
Red Rocket Nonprofits invoices and is paid for services rendered. We do not work on commission or accept a percentage of an award (either actual or promised) as a finder’s fee. Nor do we contract on a retainer basis.
This arrangement works for the mutual benefit of our clients and our business. Red Rocket Nonprofits receives compensation for the work performed and our clients realize a greater return on their investment (ROI) when funds are awarded.
Note: When pursuing a grant funding strategy, it is important that our client organizations are willing and able to commit fiscal resources without the assurance of subsequent success. As a part of your team, a good grant consultant will tell you if a particular grant opportunity is a good fit for your organization and whether or not resources should be devoted to the pursuit of it.
